Ok, you organised a holiday on a sail boat, but it’s your first time and you don’t have a clue about what to do and where to start from. Well, we would say to start from the beginning! What to put in your suitcase? Panic! Thousands of doubts nag at you: should I pack my usual suitcase with everything I can fit in? Or should I only bring with me the basics? Will I be cold even if it’s summer? Will I forget anything?
Ok, ok, keep calm. Follow our advice and you will not regret it!
First of all, do not put in your suitcase a dress for each day, one for the night, a thousand towels, various accessories, books, hats, etc. Not to mention thousands of pairs of shoes! No, you are not going on the usual trip, even less a fashion show. You need clothing for a sail boat. The first rule is: the less thigs you bring, the better it will be, because you need to feel free… and by the way you will go around in your swimsuit the whole day!
SO, WHAT SHOULD YOU ABSOLUTELY TAKE WITH YOU?
- A soft and small sack, so that you take up a minimal amount of space and fell comfy.
- Many, many, swimsuits…it will be your daily outfit!
- Boat sandals and comfortable shoes for possible excursions.
- A jacket for colder days.
- Sunglasses.
- Sun cream, although you risk burning yourself.
- A hat for when the sun is really hitting.
- Products for personal hygiene, such as toothbrush, wet wipes, biodegradable shower gel, etc.
WHAT DO YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO LEAVE OUT?
- Thousands of clothes and changes for every single day.
To charge your phone, it is good to have a solar charger; to dry your hair…use the wind! You should only have a shower at night if you go swimming many times during the day, since it isn’t good to waste fresh water on board; you only need a glass of water to brush your teeth, not a whole bottle! The dishes, then, can be lowered into the sea at night by means of a net sack and in the morning they will be perfectly degreased…such a bliss! If you really can’t avoid smoking, you should bring a bag with you where to throw your butts: you can’t throw them away into the sea because they are not biodegradable. On boat there is usually a first aid kit, but don’t forget to bring with you the medicines you usually take.
And no…are you leaving at last?
